If you're an active Twitter user who wants to have control over everything you've ever tweeted, TwitterBackup is for you.

With this program, you can save everything you've ever posted in an XML file. This way, you can see everything you've tweeted, even if it was months or years ago.

Just enter your username and password and choose where you want to save the document. Each time you make a backup, TwitterBackup will modify this document to avoid making unnecessary copies.

The first time you back it up, it may take a little longer due to the amount of tweets, but if you back it up regularly, the process should only take a few seconds at most.
